Apple TV+ continues to corral the stars and this time they have snagged Gary Oldman for their upcoming spy drama “Slow Horses.” The streaming service has ordered an adaptation of Mick Herron’s spy novels from See-Saw Films.
“Slow Horses” was first published in 2010 and follows Jackson Lamb, a brilliant but hot-tempered leader of a group of spies, who end up in MI5’s Slough House, after being kicked out of the mainstream because of their mistakes. Gary Oldman will play the role of Jackson Lamb.
Apple TV+ launched on Nov. 1 and is available for $4.99 per month. Other original shows on the platform include “The Morning Show” starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell, “See” with Jason Momoa, as well as “Dickinson” starring Hailee Steinfeld and “For All Mankind,” a show by “Star Trek” and “Battlestar Galactica” writer Ronald D. Moore.
Other upcoming originals include “Amazing Stories” by Steven Spielberg, “Little Voice” by J.J. Abrams and Sara Bareilles, “Prehistoric Planet” executive produced by Jon Favreau, “Lisey’s Story” based on a book by Stephen King and “Central Park” starring Josh Gad and Leslie Odom Jr.
