Apple TV+’s workplace comedy series “Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet” is moving with the times.
It will debut a special episode May 22, “Mythic Quest: Quarantine,” to reflect current events. The actors also worked from remote locations.
In the upcoming half-hour show, the team that creates the mega-multiplayer video game at home. Each staffer has a personal reaction to the pandemic. Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) and Ian (Rob McElhenney) deal with isolation, as Brad (Danny Pudi) and David (David Hornsby) start a charity competition. Assistant Jo (Jessie Ennis) tries to explain video-conferencing to CW (F. Murray Abraham) with mixed results.
“Mythic Quest: Quarantine” is written by star, co-creator and executive producer Rob McElhenney. “Virtual meetings are a new and special kind of hell, so I think people will relate,” he said. “Yes, we’ve all had low points, but there have also been incredible moments of triumph, and we wanted to celebrate that.”
The complete first season is now streaming globally on Apple TV+ and has already been picked up for a second season.
Apple TV+ is available for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
The Apple TV app will be available on LG, Sony and VIZIO smart TVs later this year.
