Hey now, hey now, Disney+ is taking us back to the early 2000s with a reboot of Lizzie McGuire, with Hilary Duff reprising her role as the title character.
In the sequel, Lizzie McGuire will be a 30-year-old millennial navigating life in the Big Apple. Just like the 2001 version, this series will also include an animated Lizzie, giving quirky and honest commentary on what is going on with her 30-year-old counterpart.
Duff isn’t the only one reprising her role for Disney+. Earlier this month, reports came out that Ewan McGregor is reportedly going to make a comeback to the Star Wars franchise, reprising his role in the Jedi Obi Wan Kenobi. This new Obi Wan series, would join The Mandalorian, as well as another, currently unnamed series based on Cassian Andor.
Lizzie McGuire will join a host of other Disney+ originals, including The Mandalorian, Noelle, Lady and The Tramp, The World According to Jeff Goldblum as well as High School Musical: The Musical. No word on whether or not some of the original cast will be part of the sequel.
