Netflix Drops Trailer for Teen Drama ‘All the Bright Places’ With Elle Fanning and Justice Smith
Netflix released the trailer for the teen drama “All the Bright Places” today, which will premiere on the streamer on Feb. 28.
The film revolves around two Indiana teens dealing with mental illness and death. Elle Fanning (“Maleficent,” “Super 8” and Hulu’s upcoming “Catherine the Great”) stars as Violet and Justice Smith (“Detective Pikachu,” “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”) is Theodore.
Violet, once a popular cheerleader, is mourning the death of her sister in a car crash and has lost interest in life. Theodore is the school’s outcast; he’s bipolar and wrestling with his own demons. “I keep messing things up. I don’t know how to not do that,” Theodore tells Violet after an explosive outbursts. “There are bright places even in dark times,” Violet replies. “We can be that bright place.”
Together, they experience first love, laced with moments of happiness and despair.
The film is based on Jennifer Niven’s 2015 book, which won the Children’s Choice Book Awards Teen Book of the Year and the 2016 Mare di Libri Book Prize for Best YA Book.
And there’s already buzz on social media about the trailer, with many people admitting it’s bringing them to tears.

“All the Bright Places” co-stars Alexandra Shipp (“Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Playing House”) and Luke Wilson (“Legally Blonde,” “The Royal Tenenbaums”).
The movie is directed by Brett Haley (“I’ll See You In My Dreams”) and co-written by Liz Hannah (“The Post”).
