The days until the season two premiere of Netflix’s hit show, “The Umbrella Academy” are winding down and the streamer won’t let us forget it. Today, the service delighted fans with the opening scene of the first episode in a sneak peek trailer.
The trailer follows Number Five, played by by Aidan Gallagher, as he stumbles upon the early bouts of the Cold War while in search of his siblings in Dallas. “The super-powered human sees the beginnings the Cold War unfold before him as the Soviet Union and the United States begin carrying out their first attacks against each other,” states Deadline, as Frank Sinatra’s singing underscores a host of action scenes in the background.
The service announced the season two premiere of the show back in May. The original series is based on Dark Horse Comics title created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá.
The series follows a group of six siblings who are all adopted by billionaire Reginald Hargreeves and enrolled into The Umbrella Academy where they’re prepped to be superheroes.
Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin H. Min will reprise their roles as unlikely heroes, and they will be joined by Ritu Arya, Yusuf Gatewood and Marin Ireland this season.
