At their Television Critics Association (TCA) panel, Amazon Studios Chief, Jennifer Salke, shared that the company is in the process of overhauling the user interface of the Amazon Video app.
While few details were shared, she said that she was pleased with the prototype that she had been using on her personal device.
Amazon also indicated that the company would be focusing on quality over a quantity of content.
Albert Cheng, Co-Head of Television at Amazon:
“It’s not about volume, it’s about what you can find that is buzz-worthy, relevant and would drive subscribers.”
Amazon also confirmed that they have gotten rid of their original pilot format that solicited feedback from Amazon viewers. They shared that the process was too long to greenlight quality content. Without it, they believe they will get full series in the hands of customers more quickly.
