Tonight’s debate will mark the first time former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg will go head-to-head with his opponents in a public setting. He qualified for the debate by meeting the “Democratic National Committee-mandated polling threshold on Tuesday with a NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist survey finding him at 19 percent nationally,” CNN reported. Bloomberg came in second to Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who led the pack with 31 percent support.
The debate will be moderated by “NBC Nightly News” and “Dateline NBC” anchor Lester Holt, “Meet the Press” moderator and NBC News political director Chuck Todd, NBC News Chief White House Correspondent and host of “MSNBC Live” Hallie Jackson, Noticias Telemundo senior correspondent Vanessa Hauc and Jon Ralston of The Nevada Independent.
