CES 2020 is a time for art and technology to shine. This year, LG Electronics is offering 14 new high-tech LG OLED models that boast TV, gaming and home-entertainment options.
Aside from crisp picture quality, new 8K and 4K LG OLED and 8K LG NanoCell LCD TVs offer AI-enabled features that promise to upgrade the sports and viewing experience.
The ultra-thin Gallery Series, a 65-inch model but 20 millimeters (0.79 inches), along with a 77-inch Wallpaper series model, also has a sleek, minimalist artistry. In addition, a 48-inch version with sharp picture quality, comparable to a 96-inch 8K TV, is available.
The 2020 LG NanoCell TV lineup features six real 8K TV models (75- and 65-inch models in Nano99, Nano97 and Nano95 series) that all surpass the requirements to use the 8K UHD logo from the Consumer Technology Association.
On the home movie-watching front, LG OLED TVs adds Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos immersive sound. LG’s WebOS smart TV means streamers like Disney+, Netflix and CBS All Access can showcase their content under optimal conditions.
Also, the new Filmmaker Mode, supported by Hollywood directors, enhances the visuals.
New for 2020, the Apple TV app allows customers to subscribe and watch Apple TV+ and Apple TV channels, access their iTunes video library and buy or rent more than 100,000 films and TV shows. Customers with 2018 and 2019 LG TV models will also be able to access the Apple TV app.
For gamers, LG’s 2020 TV will supply NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility to eliminate screen tearing and distracting elements during gaming. Plus, the HGiG Mode means an improved HDR gaming experience, while adjusting for blue-light content decreases eye fatigue.
Sports fans will appreciate the 120Hz response time – made possible by the new α9 Gen 3 AI processor – and sports-centric features. They can track their favorite teams and schedules and be alerted when a team scores and the game ends. Viewers can also connect the TV to Bluetooth speakers to recreate a real stadium environment.
