Tubi Announces New Content Deals With Lego and Mattel at NewFronts Presentation

As Tubi's viewership grows, the ad-supported service continues to add more content to their platform. During its inaugural NewFronts virtual presentation, the service announced they struck new content deals with Lego and Mattel.

Through their deal with Lego, Tubi is providing their viewers access to shows such as “Lego Masters,” which begins streaming in the fall. Hosted by Will Arnett, “Lego Masters” gives an unlimited supply of Lego bricks to several pairs of contestants and sees them go head-to-head to make the best creations to impress the judges. The pairs who win the judges over proceed to the next round until the finale, during which the top teams face off for a cash prize, the ultimate LEGO trophy and the grand title of LEGO Master.

Before “Lego Masters” hits the streamer in the fall, Tubi will bring “Ninjago” as well as “Lego City,” “Lego Friends,” and “Nexo Knights” to Tubi Kids beginning July.

Through their partnership with Mattel, the free service will bring titles such as “Barbie Dreamtopia,” “Monster High,” “Enchantimals,” and “WellieWishers” from American Girl.

Additional titles coming to Tubi Kids include content from the “Garfield” franchise, “Anpanman,”“Henchmen,” “Monster Family,” “Big Fish & Begonia,” and the “Magic Brush.”

Earlier this year, during Fox Corp’s Q3 2020 earnings call, CEO Lachlan Murdoch said Tubi generated a “total viewing time of over 200 million hours” in April. The figure is up more than 150 percent versus the prior year. He added that Fox expects to “drive long-term growth in the direct-to-consumer market” through Tubi.

Murdoch also noted on the call that Fox’s “The Masked Singer” is “the number one television show on Tubi,” which is key for “viewership and advertising impressions.” Tubi began streaming episodes of “The Masked Singer” last month.
