AMC Network’s Acorn TV Reaches One Million Subscribers in the U.S. and Canada

AMC Network’s Acorn TV announced today that they have surpassed a major milestone and have garnered more than one million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada. The streaming service, which brings British and international television, was launched in 2011 and specializes in original and exclusive mysteries, dramas, and comedies from across the globe.

Acorn TV’s success was expedited by its availability on several distribution channels. In the past few months, Acorn TV became increasingly available on Apple TV channels in the Apple TV app, The Roku Channel, Amazon Prime Video Channels in Canada, YouTube TV, and Android TV.

“Since its launch, Acorn TV has led the way for streamers focused on a specialized audience. Surpassing one million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada is a major milestone which underscores that subscribers love the trusted Acorn TV experience filled with highly entertaining and captivating original and exclusive entertainment, ” stated President, Global Direct-to-Consumer, AMC Networks, Miguel Penella.

Original shows available on Acorn TV include Manhunt, Queens of Mystery, Agatha Raisin, London Kills, Ms. Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries and Mystery Road. The service also offers exclusives such as Doc Martin, Line of Duty, A Place to Call Home, Jack Irish, and Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears.

Acorn TV remains available through Acorn.TV as well as Chromecast, Comcast/Xfinity, and apps on the App Store, Android Google Play, Roku and Amazon FireTV.
