Disney Plus to Launch in Latin America including Brazil on Nov. 17

Stephanie Sengwe

Disney+ continues its expansion, and this time, the streaming giant is headed to Latin America and Brazil. The streamer announced the news via an ironic tweet today and “accidentally” revealed the service will debut on Nov. 17.

Disney+ has been rolling out in major markets since first launching in the U.S. back in November. Since then, the service has launched in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland on March 24. It also became available in India on April 3.

In May, company CEO Bob Chapek announced that Disney+ would be moving into more European territories. Chapek revealed the streaming service will begin to roll out in Japan in June and then in additional markets in Europe — the Nordics, Belgium, Luxembourg and Portugal — in September and then in Latin America towards the end of the year.

Just last week, the service, which is slated to launch in Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark on Sept. 15, revealed they are holding a presale offer that’s hard to resist.

Users in those territories can preorder the service for the introductory price of €4.99/month or €59.99 annually. The standard subscription price is typically €6.99/month or € 69.99 for an annual subscription. The offer is available till Sept. 14.
