Ewan McGregor (Star Wars: Episode 1 - “The Phantom Menace”) and Charley Boorman are on a new motorcycle adventure — and it premieres on Apple TV+ September 18. “Long Way Up” is the third entry in their road-trip series.
The latest installment is a sequel to “Long Way Round” and “Long Way Down,” both of which aired on British TV in the mid-2000s.
The first three episodes of “Long Way Up” air simultaneously, and the rest will appear weekly.
The duo covers 13,000 miles in more than 100 days, exploring Central and South America — from Ushuaia, Argentina to Mexico — over three months. They began on September 19, 2019 and traveled via electric Harley-Davidsons.
McGregor and Boorman are joined in the unscripted series by directors David Alexanian and Russ Malkin, who accompanied them on electric Rivians.
A January report in The Wall Street Journal noted Apple TV+ clocked in 33.6 million subscribers since its November 1, 2019 debut. Many are estimated to be those who signed up for one-year free trial Apple offer with the purchase of any Apple device, according to 9to5Mac.
Apple TV+ run $4.99/month. The Apple TV app will be available on Sony and VIZIO smart TVs later this year.
