In a time of crisis, it’s critical to secure Covid-19 information from reputable news sources. To that end, Hulu has partnered with ABC News Live.
That’s important because the streamer announced in a release: “More than 45 percent of Hulu viewers have either cut the cord or never had cable, and may not have access to live, televised news to receive critical information during times of national crisis.”
Subscribers to both Hulu tiers (ad-supported and ad-free) can now watch the ABC News Live stream at the “Hulu Picks” collection. The deal also includes users who subscribe to a bundled Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+.
Hulu Live, which counts 3.2 million subscribers, already carries live TV news channels, such as CNN, MSNBC, as well as local affiliates for CBS, NBC and ABC. But the reach of Hulu is much greater: 27.2 million paid subscribers.
Government health officials and physicians have urged the public to be careful of fake news spreading on social media. Tech Crunch reported the National Security Council was compelled to refute claims of a national quarantine in an issued statement.
