As with many sports leagues, the Premier League was suspended back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the league is getting ready to resume its 2019-20 season on June 17, and when it does, Peacock will be yet another platform where fans can stream the games.
The first match to air on Peacock will be Bournemouth vs. Palace on Saturday, June 20 at 2:45 p.m. In total, there are seven matches scheduled to air on Peacock through July 2nd. NBC says that Peacock will stream all live matches currently available via NBC Sports Gold’s “Premier League Pass.”
Currently, Peacock Premium is available for for free to Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Flex customers, but will launch on additional platforms on July 15th.
Back in January, NBC said that starting next season, customers of Peacock Premium, which is $4.99 a month (or Free for Xfinity and Cox customers), will be able to stream Premier League games that aren’t airing on NBC’s linear channels like NBC and NBC Sports Network.
According to NBCU, starting in August 2020, soccer fans will be treated to 2,000 hours of Premier League coverage, including more than 140 matches that aren’t available on television, as well as clips and replays of the most exciting moments from the pitch.
According to NBC Sports, the season will pick back up with Matchday 29, which sees Aston Villa going against Sheffield United on June 17th at 1 p.m. ET. The match is then followed by Man City and Arsenal, which starts at 3:15 p.m. ET. Both those matches will air on NBCSN.
The new schedule for Premier League goes through July 2 with additional games still waiting to be scheduled.
