While President Trump may be trying to shut down TikTok in the U.S., that hasn’t stopped the company from bringing it to new platforms. The App called “More on TikTok” will “take you beyond the ‘For You’ feed by bringing the real, fun and bold world of TikTok—the leading destination for short-form mobile video—directly to your living room.”
The company says that the app will “dive into this collection of original videos that celebrate the creativity we see every day on TikTok, from compilations of the top trends to exclusive interviews with our beloved creators and artists.”
Nick Tran, head of global marketing for TikTok, told The Verge that for TikTok users, streaming devices “can offer them more dynamic experiences” and that the company feels bringing their “content to the TV to some extent is a natural next step.”
Unlike the TikTok mobile app, on TV, there is no log-in — so it’s about a lean back experience where you can enjoy content from TikTok.
Business Insider says that there will be two additional types of content categories, one that spotlights creators and another that will interview the biggest creators on the platform.
