YouTube TV Reaches Temporary Extension with Sinclair, Delaying Fox Sports RSN Blackout
Tonight, YouTube TV announced that they reached a temporary extension with Sinclair to keep Fox RSNs and YES Network. This agreement avoids a blackout that was set to occur tomorrow, February 29.
In various tweets, the YouTube team made the public aware of this announcement.
We were able to get a temporary extension while negotiations are underway! You’ll still be able to watch Fox RSNs and the YES Network while we work to reach an agreement. We’ll be sure to share an update once we have details on a potential timeline. More to come!

Previously, YouTube TV and Sinclair, the owner of Fox Regional Sports Networks, were in dispute over renewing their contract. In late July, Sling TV and Dish Network dropped the channels after being unable to reach an extension. In January, fuboTV dropped the RSNs from their service. While tonight’s announcement isn’t a long-term solution, it does seem like a beneficial arrangement for both companies and viewers.
