Multiple profiles are now coming to Amazon Prime Video, reports Engadget.
In addition to the primary profile, Prime Video will now let subscribers create up to six profiles. For households, that means separate watch lists, recommendations. That includes a Kid’s Profile, which limits content to shows appropriate for children 12 and under.
Rival Netflix permits five accounts in total.
For now, the Amazon offer is for specific countries. And given that much of the world is homebound, it’s an especially valuable move.
According to Engadget, the offer includes India and other countries in Asia and Africa. The rollout is being done in stages, eventually including the U.S. and UK.
CNET added that Amazon’s Prime Video Cinema lets users rent or buy released movies. For example, “Onward” is available to buy, but “The Hunt” and “Emma” can be rented for 48 hours. “Birds of Prey ” and “The Way Back” will be added March 24. That option may also kick-start more subscriptions.
Amazon is available on iOS, Android, newer Fire tablets, Alexa, Apple TV boxes and Chromecast.
