In what appears to be carriage dispute between PlayStation Vue and NESN — the channel known for live Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins games, may be dropped from the service as soon as 5pm today. This morning Boston Bruins announcer Jack Edwards posted the news on Twitter, after appearing on local radio station WZLX.
Attention Sony Playstation Vue users: After business hours last night, PS Vue decided to inform NESN that it would drop us at 5pm today, even though NESN offered a 30-day extension. That could mean no Game 5 for you tonight.

PlayStation Vue carries NESN locally across New England markets like Boston, Hartford, Burlington, and Portland in their $50 Core Plan (and above), as well as their National Feed which is part of Vue’s Sports Pack ($10) — which doesn’t include live games. The timing is poor, as it coincides with tonight’s Bruins/Maple Leafs playoff game. Fortunately, the game will also air on NBCSN in the Boston market — which is available on PlayStation Vue, but without local announcers.
For those in need of NESN for Boston Red Sox games, the channel is available on Fubo and YouTube TV.
