Last August, Hulu and VIZIO discontinued the classic Hulu app that was available on select VIZIO televisions. Prior to that, the app supported Hulu’s on-demand streaming service, but never had access to Hulu Live TV. Today, the companies officially launched a brand new Hulu app which brings the same features that you would get on a streaming player like Roku and Fire TV — including support for Hulu Live TV.

The Hulu app on VIZIO TVs supports all the latest features include Hulu Live TV, My Stuff, Profiles, Live Guide, and the ability to improve suggestions, as well as remove shows your watch history. The app is supported on all VIZIO SmartCast televisions which were released in 2016.

Prior to the release, YouTube TV was the only Live TV Streaming Service with a native app on VIZIO Smart TVs, while Sling TV supported them via Google Cast. As Smart TVs have become the fastest growing segment in streaming, they have become more of a focus for streaming services. Most Live TV Streaming Service have added support for Samsung Smart TVs, while some offer support on LG WebOS Smart TVs.
