According to a report by CNBC, Amazon is among the bidders for Disney’s 22 Regional Sports Networks that they acquired from Fox.
The company is attempting to buy the entire portfolio of networks including YES Network. This would be a major win for the e-commerce company, who would own TV and streaming rights to 44 NBA, MLB and NHL teams.
Amazon is not the only bidder, others include private equity firms Apollo Global Management, KKR, and The Blackstone Group, as well as broadcasting giants Sinclair and TEGNA.
The report shared that the next round of bidding will take place by the end of the year.
