DOJ Approves Disney/Fox Deal Under One Condition

The DOJ gave Disney approval to move ahead with their purchase of FOX under the condition that they divest the 22 FOX-owned Regional Sports Networks (RSNs).

The deal would give the media-giant 20th Century Fox Film & Television, FX Cable Networks, National Geographic, and international stakes in Sky and Star TV.

Disney would also acquire FOX’s 30% stake in Hulu, giving them a majority 60% stake in the streaming service.

While this is positive news for Disney, the deal still has to be approved by Fox and Disney shareholders. There is still a chance that Comcast tries to acquire FOX with a higher unsolicited bid.
