fuboTV announced today that they had over 900,000 downloads during the World Cup and was in the Top 100 Grossing iOS Apps during the month.
Downloads of fuboTV’s app grew by 713% during the first week of Russia 2018 (from 38K weekly app installs to 309K installs), according to Sensor Tower.
iPhone, Web, and Roku were the most popular devices by viewers, but Roku had the largest amount of viewing time.
Over 6 Million Total Hours Watched
Throughout their 900 hours of soccer programming, including every match in English and Spanish, over six million total hours of soccer content was watched.
Prior to the knockout stage, Mexico, Germany, and Argentina were the most viewed teams. Throughout the tournament, over 60% of viewers watched more than one FIFA World Cup match.
fuboTV Became First vMVPD with 4K Streaming
The biggest success for fuboTV was becoming the first vMVPD to broadcast in 4K ahead of DIRECTV NOW, Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, and PlayStation Vue.
The beta which started July 2nd streamed all remaining World Cup matches in 4K HDR on Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, and Chromecast Ultra.
