BET’s iconic show, Rap City is returning for a one-night special, Rap City 21, hosted by multimedia personality, Emmy Award Winner, DJ, and Philanthropist Big Tigger. Ahead of the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards, the network will air the “celebration of the network’s commitment to the culture’s past, present, and future.” Rap City 21 airs on Tuesday, October 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. About ‘Rap City 21’
The original Rap City series made its debut on BET, featuring rap music videos as well as cultural commentary and interviews. Rap City 21 will follow a similar flow, honoring the classic series, including booth appearances.
Over the years, Rap City showcased many hip-hop stars’ stories, including Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J, Kanye West, Eve, Ludacris, The Diplomats, Jadakiss, Trina, Common, Big Boi, and Killer Mike.
“I’m excited at the opportunity to revive this legendary piece of culture! All your favorite stars and their bars on display,” said Big Tigger.
Big Tigger will be both hosting and producing the special episode of Rap City. It was also executive produced by Red Summer TV and Sam Walker.
