Roku announced this morning that they have launched their ad-supported network — The Roku Channel in Canada.
The channel which comes for free on Roku devices, doesn’t require any subscription or log-in and allow consumers to stream hundreds of movies, TV shows, and documentaries for free.
At launch the channel will include selection of classic movies including Bad Boys, Julie & Julia, and Grown Ups. The content comes from publishing partners including American Classics/Hatch Farm Studios, FilmRise and Total Content Digital.
The channel which launched in the U.S. in September recently announced that they’ve added live and linear news for U.S. subscribers. While this is not yet available for Canada, live options are a possibility in the future.
