Last week, Disney revealed their line-up for Disney+ in May including “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” and a new behind-the-scenes look at “The Mandalorian.” Now, there’s one more surprise coming to the service: The Princess Bride. Stars of the 1987 fantasy adventure, Cary Elwes and Robin Wright revealed that the fan favorite will be joining the service on May 1st.
In this fairy tale, the beautiful Princess Buttercup (Wright) and the dashing Westley (Elwes) must overcome staggering odds to find happiness amid six-fingered swordsmen, murderous princes, Sicilians and rodents of unusual size. But even death can’t stop these true lovebirds from triumphing.
