ABC News’ Bob Woodruff and His Son Travel the World Together on ‘Rouge Trip’ Series for Disney Plus

Disney+ is going globetrotting. It debuts the six-episode adventure series “Rouge Trip” on July 24, featuring ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff and his son Mack.

The National Geographic show has the Woodruffs visiting countries rife with conflict, as well as natural beauty. In “Rouge Trip,” the duo tours Columbia, Ukraine, Papua New Guinea, Ethiopia, Lebanon and Pakistan.

During their travels, they parasail, rappel down waterfalls with former rebel fighters and hike in war-torn nations. All six shows are available at launch.

Part of the show’s impetus is a reflection of Woodruff’s parenting. In 2006, as a war correspondent in Iraq, he was seriously injured by a roadside bomb. Yet he did not want his four children to grow up frightened, given his experiences.

Woodruff often reported on the destruction in various countries. Now, with son Mack, he is exploring their pluses. En route, the journey lets them confront both their perspectives and father-son relationship.

Bob Woodruff called the show “an adventure of a lifetime,” adding it allowed them to discover “how every place on the planet has the power to surprise, amaze and inspire, despite its past.”

“Rogue Trip” begins in Papua New Guinea, along the banks of the Sepik River, where the two learn the hunting and healing secrets of a mysterious tribe known as the Crocodile Men. In Ethiopia, they jam in a reggae drum circle and face a hungry hyena.

Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for movies and TV shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more.
