Amazon Launches IMDb Freedive with Free TV Shows and Movies

Amazon announced today that they have launched a free streaming video channel called IMDb Freedive. The ad-supported service is available on Amazon Fire TV devices as well as on the IMDb website.

Some movies on the service include Memento, Awakenings, The Last Samurai, and The Illusionist. IMDb Freedive also has a vast library of TV Shows including Fringe, Heroes, Without A Trace, and The Bachelor. The catalog will continue to expand with new films and shows being added regularly.

The service mirrors what Roku launched with The Roku Channel which offers 10,000+ free ad-supported movies and TV episodes on The Roku Channel.

It is expected that Freedive will become available in IMDb’s mobile apps in the near future, with other platforms coming later.

“Customers already rely on IMDb to discover movies and TV shows and decide what to watch. With the launch of IMDb Freedive, they can now also watch full-length movies and TV shows on IMDb and all Amazon Fire TV devices for free. We will continue to enhance IMDb Freedive based on customer feedback and will soon make it available more widely, including on IMDb’s leading mobile apps.”

On Fire TV devices, you can either access the service from “Your Apps & Channels” or by saying “Alexa, go to Freedive.”
