Although Apple and Samsung are competitors in the smartphone arena, the companies have joined forces to their benefit. According to Variety, Apple Music is now available on Samsung Smart TVs, “allowing subscribers of the streaming-music service in over 100 countries to access songs, music videos and more on Samsung Smart TVs.”
“Our partnership with Apple has been instrumental in bringing consumers an unparalleled lineup of different entertainment options, especially as they seek out more content choices from their smart TVs,” Salek Brodsky, VP of strategic partnerships and business development for Samsung Electronics, said in a statement.
Apple Music is accessible on models from 2018 through 2020. Subscribers have access to over 60 million songs ad-free, top music videos and thousands of curated playlists.
In November, XITE, an immersive and interactive music video platform, announced they were also available on Samsung Smart TVs sold from 2017 onwards in the U.S. The platform, which launched in 2018 in the U.S. on Xfinity X1, is also available Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV.
