Top favorite and world number one Rory McIlroy goes into the Travelers Championship looking to amend some dodgy finishes from the past weeks. McIlroy finished T32 at the Charles Schwab Challenge that took place two weeks ago and was T41 at last week’s RBC Heritage. McIlroy shares the spotlight with Justin Thomas and five-time Tour champion Bryson DeChambeau.

“DeChambeau has earned a lot of attention for his recent physical transformation and the resulting monster drives, but he’s been making noise on leaderboards, too, collecting two top-10s in a row. So he’s primed to try to make his way back into the winner’s circle,” according to Golf.com.

The tournament is sure to be one to watch as last week’s winner Webb Simpson joins the trio, along with defending champion Chez Reavie, Jordan Spieth and more. According to Golfweek, fan favorite Brooks Koepka withdrew from the tournament because his caddie Ricky Elliott tested positive for COVID-19. Elliott tested positive at TPC River Highlands after having previously tested negative 48 hours earlier when he arrived at the tournament, Golfweek reported.

“I’m going to pull out to protect everybody else. I think it’s the right thing to do,” Koepka said. “I don’t want to risk anyone’s life if they have respiratory issues or underlying conditions. The only way this Tour can continue is if guys to do this sort of thing and be proactive about it.”
