Netflix has renewed comedy series “Dead to Me” for a third and final season and inked the show’s creator Liz Feldman to a multi-year overall deal, Deadline reported Monday.

Starring Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini and James Marsden, “Dead to Me” has been a hit for the streamer. Season one drew viewers in 30 million households in its first month, according to Deadline, and ranked fourth on Netflix’s Top 10 Most Popular Series of 2019 in the U.S. Applegate was nominated for the 2019 Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy for her work on the show.

Season two was released in May.

The dark comedy was born out of Feldman’s previous overall deal at CBS Television Studios, which produces the show. At Netflix, Feldman is slated to develop “new original series and other projects,” according to Deadline.

“From start to finish, ‘Dead To Me’ is exactly the show I wanted to make. And it’s been an incredible gift,” Feldman said. “Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human. I’ll be forever indebted to my partners in crime, my friends for life, Christina and Linda, and our brilliantly talented writers, cast and crew. I am beyond grateful to Netflix for supporting ‘Dead to Me’ from day one, and I’m thrilled to continue our collaboration.”

Feldman executive produces on the series along with Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell for Gloria Sanchez Productions, as well as Adam McKay, Christie Smith and Applegate. Cardellini is a co-executive producer.

“Liz Feldman is a comedic force who brings her fresh and distinct point of view to every element of the creative process from inception through writing and producing,” Netflix VP of comedy series Jane Wiseman said. “We could not be more excited to expand our relationship with Liz and continue to work with her on Dead to Me and future series to come.”

Last month, Netflix also renewed drama “Ozark” for a fourth and final season, Mindy Kaling teen comedy “Never Have I Ever” for a second season, drama “Lucifer” for a sixth and final season and Kenya Barris mockumentary “#blackAF” for a second season.
