“Hannah Gadsby: Douglas,” the Australian comic-actress’ next stand-up comedy special, streams May 26 on Netflix. The tour began last year in Australia, reports Deadline.
Douglas is the name of the comic’s eldest dog.
Commenting on the show, Netflix stated: “You can expect your expectations to be set and met by “Douglas,” a tour from the dog park to the renaissance and back guided by one of comedy’s most sparkling and surprising minds.”
Gadsby’s earlier Netflix standup, “Nanette,” was well received, winning a prestigious Peabody Award and Emmy for outstanding writing for a variety special.
When “Douglas” was announced last year, Gadsby said, “I’m really enjoying touring with the live performance, but there will be places in the world that I won’t be able to visit, so it’s wonderful that Netflix will bring the show to every corner of the globe.”
The comic has also appeared on various late-night talk shows, including “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” and as a guest on Conan O’Brien’s podcast.
Last week, Netflix announced Jerry Seinfeld's second stand-up show is also slated for May.
