At a time when conversations regarding race are at the forefront more than ever, Nickelodeon is getting a jump on educating the youth. The ViacomCBS-owned channel is reviving its “Nick News” franchise with a special that addresses race in this country. Titled “Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special,” the program will air tonight beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon. It will be simulcast on TeenNick, Nicktoons, the Nick app and the network’s YouTube channel.

“Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special” will be hosted by Alicia Keys. The special will feature some Black Lives Matter activists who will answer questions from kids and families as well as offering a variety of ways that families can tackle the issues of race and inclusivity, Deadline notes.
Guests will include Black Lives Matter co-founders Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi; 12-year-old singer Keedron Bryant; “Antiracist Baby” author Ibram X. Kendi; Jade Fuller, Nya Collins, Zee Thomas, Kennedy Green, Emma Rose Smith and Mikayla Smith, the Nashville teenagers who founded Teens4Equality; social media star Tabitha Brown and her family; and family therapist Dr. George James.
