Four new channels from AMC Networks have been picked up by free, ad-supported Pluto TV.
The new inventory: The Walking Dead en Español, Stories by AMC, Slightly Off by IFC and All Reality WE TV. Certain shows from the quartet are also available on demand via Pluto, a subsidiary of ViacomCBS.
Shows on Stories by AMC include “The Walking Dead, “Halt and Catch Fire” and “Into the Badlands.” Slightly Off by IFC counts the mockumentary “Documentary Now!” and “Portlandia,” among others. At launch, All Reality offers various series, including “Kendra On Top” and “John Edward Cross Country.”
The Walking Dead en Español also includes the popular series “Fear the Walking Dead.”
Pluto, which claims 22 million active viewers, resembles traditional TV, complete with programming grid and a 250+ channel selection. It also curates popular movies into its programming mix.
AMC’s distribution and development chief Joshua Reader, stated: “Free ad-supported streaming is an emerging category that gives us the ability to complement the content offerings of our linear networks and other new platforms in ways that serve viewers and advertising partners.”
In February, Pluto TV teamed with Vidaa International , a subsidiary of Hisense, the third-largest television manufacturer in the world, for global distribution.
