PS Vue is Focused on Building Deeper Integrations to Streaming Platforms

Over the past year, PlayStation Vue has focused on building deeper integrations with platforms like Fire TV and Apple TV. At today’s Pay TV Show, VP of PlayStation Vue, Dwayne Benefield shared that he feels that being deeply integrated with platforms has a bigger impact for the service than adding new channels.

In October, PS Vue partnered with Amazon to add integration into the Fire TV universal channel guide, as well as adding a personalized “On Now” section on the device’s home screen. The company also became the first Live TV Streaming Service to add support for Apple’s TV App. Since other services like Fubo and DIRECTV NOW have followed with their own integrations into the TV App, while Philo has been doubling down on Android.

With the major Live TV Streaming Services now offering similar bundles, one of the major differentiators is customer experience. As platforms like Roku, Android TV, and tvOS add more capabilities like voice search and more prominent placement in the interface, it’s clear that these services will try to take advantage of that experience even further.
