21st Century Fox today announced that they have acquired 7 local FOX & CW Sinclair affiliates.
This includes WJW (Cleveland - FOX), KDVR (Denver - FOX), WSFL (Miami - CW - FOX), KTXL (Sacramento), KSWB (San Diego - FOX), KSTU (Salt Lake City - FOX), and KCPQ (Seattle - FOX).
The deal for $910 million will be a key component of “New Fox” which will be the leftover assets after FOX sells off most of it’s assets to Disney. Fox Television Stations will now own and operate their own affiliates in 19 of the Top 20 markets.
Sinclair was in the news earlier this week for pulling its stations from PlayStation Vue. The spinoff of these channels open the door for them to now return to the service.
