AT&T Now Offering Free 30-Day Trials of HBO Max to Cricket Wireless Customers

Just days after Disney reworked their streaming service offers through Verizon, it seems AT&T is also upping the ante. According to Fierce Video, the company is now offering free, 30-day trials of HBO Max to their Cricket Wireless customers.

In order to qualify, customers have to be new to HBO Max and it’s required that they haven’t previously redeemed free trials for HBO Max or HBO Now. After the 30-day trial, customers will have to pay the standard $14.99/month for the service, which will be billed separately from their wireless service.

AT&T includes HBO Max at no additional cost on select wireless plans – and have previously bundled their Live TV skinny bundle, AT&T WatchTV.

AT&T joins other media giants who have been revamping ways in which their streaming services are distributed. Earlier this week, Disney announced they have revamped their distribution deal with Verizon so that users on select Mix and Match Unlimited wireless plans get Disney+, Hulu (with ads) and ESPN+ at no extra charge. The offer began on Aug. 20 and is slated to expire on Feb. 28, 2021.

Recently, news also broke that Apple aims to let users bundle its digital services. Sources say the “Apple One” bundle could come in October, dovetailing with the next iPhone, reports Bloomberg. The basic package is Apple TV+ and Apple Music. (More expensive tiers add on services, such as Apple Arcade gaming and Apple News+, as well as extra iCloud storage.)

Apple is also reportedly planning to launch a discounted bundle that would allow Apple TV+ subscribers ($4.99 a month) to receive CBS All Access ($9.99) and Showtime ($11.99) for just $9.99 a month. The report was not clear on whether or not the bundle would include CBS All Access ad-supported ($5.99) or ad-free plan ($9.99), but currently the ad-free option is the only one available through Apple TV Channels.
