Amazon’s IMDb TV has just scored its biggest licensing deal. The ad-supported streaming service garnered U.S streaming rights to six seasons of Dick Wolf’s “Chicago Fire,” and users can start watching the show today, according to Variety.
Variety also reported that IMDb TV snagged a nonexclusive streaming license for the high school football drama, “Friday Night Lights.” The hit show will begin airing on Dec. 31. Episodes of the show are also currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video and Hulu.
IMDb TV was first launched in January with the name IMDb Freedrive. In June, the service was renamed to IMDb TV and saw an increase in content — with films and series from Warner Bros., Sony Pictures and MGM added to the platform. They later added even more content with deals from Paramount and Lionsgate.
In July, Amazon announced it would be premiering its first ever scripted series titled, “You’re Not A Monster,” this fall. The animated, 10-episode, short-form series saw Kelsey Grammer returning to the therapist’s chair since his days on “Frasier,” as he voices a former psychiatrist-turned-vampire, who mentors his great-great grandson Max (played by Eric Stonestreet ), a therapist who has inherited his practice.
