Pluto TV Launches New Ad Campaign, Updates User Interface With ‘Project Venetia’

Pluto TV has been doing well lately and it looks like ViacomCBS is looking to strike while iron is hot. The streaming service has launched a brand new marketing campaign aimed at getting more users on the platform titled, “Drop In. It’s Free.” Pluto TV’s new campaign highlights the platform’s “ease of use and zero cost to consumers.”

“Today marks another major step for Pluto TV in its mission to entertain the planet. Project Venetia makes it even easier for viewers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming TV programming,” said Tom Ryan, CEO and co-founder of Pluto TV. “And with our new brand campaign, we’re communicating the core value proposition of Pluto TV and inviting everyone to visit a bold new world of television. As our new tagline promises, you can drop in anytime and start watching hundreds of channels on any device, all for free.”

In addition to the new campaign, Pluto TV has also launched an upgraded their user interface called Project Venetia. Project Venetia promises to deliver new features and design changes to customers and continue to enhance the platform’s ease of access to premium entertainment.

The new upgrade features:

  • New Linear UX, which makes browsing easier by allowing users to choose directly from categories such as movies, news, entertainment and sports.
  • Improved On-Demand UX, which allows users to skip directly into VOD categories such as “binge-watch” and “rom-coms.” Users are also able to watch previews and play trailers before they decide to click play.
  • Channel Favoriting allows users to favorite channels and keep them at the top of their channel guide.
  • Watch List allows viewers to save their top picks and come back to watch anytime.
  • Watch Now Button shows up when a title is available for on-demand viewing.

Project Venetia is currently available on Apple, Vizio and Roku devices and will rollout onto across other devices, including Android and Amazon Fire TV, over the coming months.

In their In their Q4 2019 earnings report released in February, ViacomCBS announced that Pluto TV saw even more growth and is now at 22 million monthly active users and is projected to reach 30 million users by the end of 2020.
