Peacock is a subscription video streaming service from NBCUniversal that gives access to up to 15,000 hours of content including original shows, blockbuster movies, and classic television series. It will include news, entertainment, sports, late-night, and reality from various NBCU properties including NBC, Bravo, and E!, as well as original shows including reboots of “Saved By The Bell”, “Punky Brewster”, and “Battlestar Galactica” .

How to Sign-Up for Peacock on Samsung Smart TV

Peacock for Samsung Smart TV is available, however only on select Samsung 2018, 2019, & 2020 Smart TV’s that support AirPlay 2. They currently don’t have a native Samsung Smart TV App.

Using Peacock via AirPlay

  1. Click here to sign-up for Peacock
  2. Click here to install the Peacock iOS App on your iPhone or iPad
  3. Once installed, log-in using your Peacock credentials
  4. Make sure your Smart TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi as your iOS device
  5. Start playing a movie or show on the Peacock App and select the AirPlay icon in the top right
  6. Choose your Samsung Smart TV and it will start displaying on your television

If you have a compatible TV and you don’t see AirPlay as an option, make sure you update to the latest Samsung Smart TV firmware

In July, it will be available on Apple TV, Chromecast, PS4, Xbox, Samsung Smart TVs, LG Smart TVs, and VIZIO Smart TVs.

As of right now, the company does not have a deal with Amazon Fire TV and Roku, but you may be able to Cast to those devices with third-party apps.

The service has two tiers, Peacock Free, which is available to all customers at no charge, and Peacock Premium which starts at $4.99 a month with ads and $9.99 a month without ads. If you are a Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex, or Cox Contour customer — you will get a $5 discount on either plan — meaning you can get Peacock Premium at no extra charge.

Shows on Peacock

Peacock Free includes 7,500 hours of programming including next day access of first-year NBCU shows, select movies, and complete classic series. Peacock Premium includes 15,000 hours of programming including next day access to current season of all NBCU series, early access to late-night shows, Peacock Originals, and live sports like Premier League, Ryder Cup, and The Olympics.

Just like other streaming services, Peacock will have their own original series including reboots of Save By The Bell, Punky Brewster, and Battlestar Galactica. They also have shows like Rutherford Falls (Ed Helms), Dr. Death (Alec Baldwin), and a behind-the-scenes docs-series about Saturday Night Live.

The company has acquired the rights to many classic shows like the entire Dick Wolf library including Law & Order and Chicago Fire. Peacock will also become the exclusive home for Parks and Recreation (October 2020) and The Office (January 2021).

The service will also feature blockbusters and critically-acclaimed films from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation, Illumination and content acquired from Hollywood’s biggest studios.
