We’ll give our best guess here!

“A Minecraft Movie” welcomes viewers — and a crew of four misfits — to the Overworld. In this strange, cubic wonderland, people can create just about anything they imagine. But our four heroes just want to get back home, and they’ll have to embark on an epic journey to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative to do it.
The film stars Jason Momoa, Sebastian Hansen, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jack Black. It currently sports a 49% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but no Minecraft fan out there is going to pay much attention to the reviews when the franchise is finally available in all its glory on the big screen.
When can you stream ‘A Minecraft Movie’ from home?
“A Minecraft Movie” is being distributed in the United States by Warner Bros. Discovery. That means that once it’s available to stream on-demand, it’ll come to WBD’s streamer Max before it premieres anywhere else.
But how long will it take? An intriguing similarity arose when researching that question. I took a look at two recent kids movie releases that eventually ended up streaming on Max; 2023’s “Wonka” and 2024’s “Flow.” Both movies took 84 days between arriving in theaters and hitting Max, and I think there’s a good chance “A Minecraft Movie” will follow suit.
There is a chance that “A Minecraft Movie” becomes a box-office smash, and if that occurs its theatrical window will probably be longer. As it stands, however, I think “A Minecraft Movie” will be available to stream on Max starting Friday, June 27, providing audiences with a great way to beat the summer heat by staying in.
