ViX is set to be the fastest-growing streamer of 2025
The Spanish-language service is riding the wave of a unique business strategy to continually add subscribers and increase revenue.
Believe it or not, but the hottest streaming service on the market is one you probably don’t have, and might not have even ever heard of. According to newly published data from Ampere Analysis, the streamer set to have the largest expansion in 2025 is not Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video], or any of the other traditionally dominant players in the American streaming space — it’s the Spanish-language streamer ViX.
Key Details:
- The little streamer that could: ViX will grow by 18% in 2025.
- The importance of ads: Sixty percent of Ampere’s revenue will come from advertising.
- Key genres: ViX’s crime, thriller, and romance titles will be big drivers of growth.
According to Ampere’s data, ViX will be the fastest-growing streaming service in the Americas this year, growing its subscriber base by 18%. That will bring the service to a total of 10.5 million paid subscribers by year’s end, and will double the predicted growth rate of top services like Max, Disney+, Peacock, and Netflix. Obviously, it is easier to have double-digit growth when you are starting from a smaller subscriber base, but the increase is nonetheless impressive.
ViX’s subscriber total has grown by 70% over the past three years and isn’t expected to slow down any time soon. Ampere cites strategic partnerships with United States-based telecom companies — such as a recent distribution deal with Charter Communications — as well as a unique business model and a diverse retail network in Mexico, as reasons for the rapid growth.
“As most streamers shift focus from chasing subscriber growth to achieving profitability, ViX entered the market with a clear strategy, offering tiered options from the outset,” Ampere analyst Deborah Polanco said. “While competitors are catching up with ad tiers and implementing password-sharing crackdowns, ViX has already become the third global streamer to reach profitability, and in record time.”
Advertising growth is also expected for ViX. The streamer offers a free tier, as well as paid, ad-supported and ad-free subscriptions, and that will allow the service to collect 60% of its total advertising revenue this year. Total streaming advertising in Latin America is projected to double over the next five years, and ViX will be at the forefront of those gains.
No other streaming service in the Americas will collect even close to 60% of revenue from video-on-demand and free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) advertising. Peacock will come closest at 34%, followed by Hulu at 27% and Prime Video at 24%.

More than 40% of ViX subscribers in the U.S. say that a strong variety of content is a key driver for choosing a subscription platform, and ViX has doubled its on-demand catalog since 2022. The streamer also has a library that’s perfect for stimulating growth in key regions; crime and thriller titles (20% of its catalog) were the most-commissioned genres in Latin America in the last half of 2024, and romance (18%) continues to be enduringly popular.
