Return to a galaxy far, far away with ‘Andor’ Season 2

Return to a galaxy far, far away with ‘Andor’ Season 2

Andor Season 2 comes to Disney+ starting April 22

The first season of “Andor” showed viewers a side of the Star Wars galaxy that has mostly gone unseen until now. The series portrayed the Empire as the terrifying and oppressive regime it was always said to be, and examined the Rebellion from a more nuanced perspective than simply good versus evil. Now, “Andor” Season 2 is close to its premiere, and we’ll let you know all the information you need to have ready to hand before it’s released!

Everything you need to know about ‘Andor’ Season 2

When does ‘Andor’ Season 2 come out?

“Andor” Season 2 will be released on April 22, 2025. Three episodes will premiere each week over the course of four weeks, adding up to 12 episodes total.

What happened in Season 1 of ‘Andor’?

“Andor” Season 1 centered on the titular character Cassian Andor, a thief and scavenger who is simply trying to avoid attention and make some credits. When his activities draw Imperial interest, he is recruited as an operative by Luthen Rael, a member of the Rebel Alliance. Andor has no particular sympathies with the Rebellion but agrees to help stage a daring heist that will fund its operations in exchange for a share of the profits.

The more he sees of the Empire, however, the more Andor’s thoughts about the Rebellion begin to change. Meanwhile, other Rebel operatives like Senator Mon Mothma and the militant Saw Gerrera pursue the downfall of the Empire in their own ways, while Imperial operatives like Dedra Meero and the Pre-Mor Authority inspector Syril Karn try to uncover the Rebels’ true plans.

What will happen in Season 2 of ‘Andor’?

Season 2 of “Andor” will take place quite close to the events of “Rogue One,” and will see Andor and his fellow Rebel operatives continue to try and interdict the Empire’s sinister motives. Meanwhile, Imperial Director Orson Krennic will continue his work on the secretive superweapon the Empire has been constructing for years…

Who will star in Season 2 of ‘Andor’?

Plenty of the show’s Season 1 cast is returning in Season 2, including Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, Kyle Soller as Syril Karn, Denise Gough as Dedra Meero, Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Duncan Pow as Ruescott Melshi, and Kathryn Hunter as Eedy Karn.

Also returning from “Rogue One” are Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic and Alan Tudyk as the voice of K-2SO. Benjamin Bratt is set to appear in Season 2 as well, in an as-yet unspecified role.

How will ‘Andor’ Season 2 connect to ‘Rogue One’?

“Andor” Season 2 will cover the four years between the events of Season 1 and “Rogue One.” The final three episodes of Season 2 will lead directly into the events of the film itself.

Can you stream ‘Andor’ Season 2 for free?

No, sadly. “Andor” Season 2 will be an exclusive of Disney+, and since that streamer does not offer a free trial of any kind, there will be no way to stream the show free of charge.

The first season of “Andor” became available to stream in its entirety on Hulu in March, and will remain there until April 22. Hulu’s ad-supported plan offers a 30-day free trial to all new subscribers.

The first three episodes of “Andor” Season 1 also became available to stream free on YouTube in early March.
