There’s something really satisfying about a great binge. Losing yourself in the world of a TV series night after night and episode after episode is a mental break we all deserve. Tara and I usually have our binge comedy TV shows as our “dinner” shows. These are the comedies you can throw on while eating, half-watch while talking, and still totally enjoy, even if you miss a joke or two. This list is all about those kinds of binges. I’ve tried to cover a few different comedy tones and tastes in the hopes you can find something you jive with. Just know that every show here is complete, fully available on Hulu, and perfect for settling into for weeks at a time. Here are the best binge-worthy comedy TV shows to get lost in on Hulu.

Best comfort sitcom binge: ‘New Girl’

“New Girl” is one of those shows that just feels good to spend time with. It ran for seven seasons, which means you really get to move into the loft and hang out with these people. On the surface, it’s a goofy roommate sitcom, but it’s built on incredibly strong character chemistry. Jess, Nick, Schmidt, Winston, and Cece all feel like they were designed to bounce off each other forever, and they kind of do because it never gets old.

This is one of my favorite binge shows because of how lovely it is to just hang out in this world. You can drop into almost any episode and instantly remember why you like these characters. And yes, I’m a sucker for a love story, and the relationship between Nick and Jess is the spine that gives the whole thing real heart. Watching their relationship unfold slowly across multiple seasons is extremely satisfying because you know they’re perfect for each other. It’s funny, warm, and endlessly rewatchable. A perfect dinner show.

Jessica Day is an offbeat and adorable girl in her late 20s who, after a bad breakup, moves in with three single guys. Goofy, positive, vulnerable and honest to a fault, Jess has faith in people, even when she shouldn’t. Although she’s dorky and awkward, she’s comfortable in her own skin. More prone to friendships with women, she’s not used to hanging with the boys—especially at home.

Best female-friendship binge: ‘Broad City’

“Broad City” is pure friendship chaos in the best way. Abbi and Ilana’s bond is the entire engine of the show, and it’s what makes the series feel so alive. It’s loud, weird, messy, and aggressively specific, but that’s exactly why it works. The episodes are usually built around tiny problems that spiral into absolute nonsense, which means you don’t have to catch every little detail to get where things are going.

This is an amazing binge because it never asks much of you. You don’t need to track complicated arcs or remember a million details. You just get to hang out with two people who are ride-or-die for each other and make wildly bad decisions together. Even when you’re distracted, the jokes land. And when you’re paying attention, it’s even funnier. Total comfort chaos.

Broad City follows two women throughout their daily lives in New York City, making the smallest and mundane events hysterical and disturbing to watch all at the same time.

Best off-beat binge: ‘Schitt’s Creek’

“Schitt’s Creek” is a sneaky one. It starts out broad and absurd, almost aggressively awkward, but over time, it quietly becomes one of the warmest comedies you can binge. Watching the Rose family go from completely unlikable to genuinely lovable is the entire journey, and it’s incredibly satisfying when you see where everyone ends up.

What makes this such a great binge is the tonal shift. The show doesn’t rush it. It lets the characters grow slowly, episode by episode, season by season. Somewhere along the way, the town stops feeling like a punishment and starts feeling like home. That evolution makes it very hard to stop watching once you’re in. It’s funny, gentle, and lands its ending in a way most comedies don’t.

Formerly filthy rich video store magnate Johnny Rose, his soap star wife Moira, and their two kids, über-hipster son David and socialite daughter Alexis, suddenly find themselves broke and forced to live in Schitt’s Creek, a small depressing town they once bought as a joke.

Best funny fantasy binge: ‘What We Do in the Shadows’

“What We Do in the Shadows” is one of the most joke-dense comedies on streaming. It’s a mockumentary about vampires who live together like petty roommates, and it fully commits to the bit. The documentary style keeps everything grounded, which somehow makes the supernatural stupidity even funnier.

This show is a dream binge because it rewards rewatching. There are so many throwaway lines, background jokes, and perfectly timed reactions that you catch new stuff constantly. You don’t need to follow a big overarching story to enjoy it, either. You just let the jokes wash over you. Sure, it’s an insane premise, but it’s genuinely funny and a great option if you want something funny without thinking too hard.
