The gang’s all here for what’s sure to be the longest ‘Bluey’ episode to date.
It’s official — a “Bluey” movie is set to debut in theaters in August 2027. We first got wind that a full-length flick was in the works back in December, and now confirmed via Fandango on Facebook, we’ll get to see the whole gang on the big screen in just over two years. For those who know the show, an eight-minute episode is the standard dose of Heeler family fun. So, a feature-length film is an unprecedented adventure, promising the longest, most in-depth look at Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli we’ve ever seen in one sitting.

The movie is a collaboration between BBC Studios, Walt Disney Studios, and the series’ original creators at Ludo Studio. It will be written and directed by “Bluey” creator Joe Brumm, with Richard Jeffery co-directing. Voice actors Melanie Zanetti (Chilli) and David McCormack (Bandit) have also confirmed that they will reprise their roles, but it’s unclear who else from the original cast will be participating.
While specific plot details are still under wraps, the film is expected to continue the adventures of the Heeler family. With the release still over two years away, there’s plenty of time for more information to be revealed. Until then, fans can speculate on what grand-scale game the Heelers might play and how the show’s beloved style will translate to a theatrical experience. One thing’s for sure: it will be “Bluey” like we’ve never seen before.
In the meantime, most episodes are available on Disney+ if you want to catch all the “Bluey” action.
