Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are back to their old antics in “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.” This time, the pair will maraud across Europe as they play their game of cat and mouse, and we’ll break down when we think you’ll be able to watch their latest flick from your living room!
Key Details:

- Fans may be in for a bit of a wait before “Den of Thieves 2” is ready to stream.

“Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” sees Butler and Jackson return to the roles that originated in the first movie in the franchise. Butler’s Sheriff Nick O’Brien is back on the trail of Jackson’s Donnie Wilson, who has escaped custody and high-tailed it to Europe to try and pull off one of the most daring diamond heists in history.
From that description, it may sound like “Den of Thieves 2” is little more than a popcorn flick. But 65% of reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes have given it their seal of approval thus far, suggesting the movie may have a little heft to it as well.
When can you stream ‘Den of Thieves 2: Pantera’ at home?
“Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” is being distributed in the United States by Lionsgate. That makes it easy to determine which streamer will get the movie when it’s no longer a theatrical exclusive, or available digitally solely on platforms like Prime Video that let you rent or buy movies that are still in cinemas.
Recent Lionsgate history suggests it could be quite a while before fans see “Den of Thieves 2” on STARZ. Recent Lionsgate release The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” reportedly won’t come out on STARZ until March 31, more than 140 days after being released in theaters in November. The sci-fi epic “Megalopolis” was released back in September, and doesn’t even have a streaming release date yet.
I think “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” will follow a similar pattern, and will come to streaming on Friday, May 30, 140 days from its original release date. That may seem like a long wait for the film, but it’s consistent with Lionsgate’s streaming release strategy so far.
