Does Frndly TV have any 4K progrmaming?
Does the lower price of Frndly TV indicate there are fewer premium features on the service?
When you see a live TV streaming package like Frndly TV with an incredibly low price, there are usually a few trade-offs involved. For example, Frndly TV doesn’t come with cable sports channels, local channels, or any live national news networks in the traditional sense. What it does carry is a wide selection of family-friendly programming, as well as channels like Hallmark Channel and Lifetime for a starting price of $7 per month.
But what about 4K TV shows and movies? Does Frndly TV offer the ability to watch Ultra-High-Definition 4K at its lower price? We’ll give you more details about the service and its video resolution here.
Everything you need to know about watching 4K TV on Frndly TV
Does Friendly TV have any 4K content?
No, there is no live or on-demand content available with any Frndly TV subscription. Video resolution typically tops out at 720p resolution, so if you’re expecting to get the very best picture quality with a Frndly TV account, you may end up disappointed. However, it’s fair to note that lower-cost video packages like Frndly TV typically don’t carry such a premium video format; Philo, which also offers a smaller selection of cable channels at a lower price, does not have any 4K content either.
Will Frndly TV ever add 4K video?
I suppose anything is possible, but I have no expectation that Frndly will add any 4K resolution content anytime soon. Offering 4K video comes at a significant cost, and I think Frndly is more intent on maintaining a reputation as a low-cost streaming service than adding premium features that would require it to hike the price.
What’s the closest option to Frndly TV that offers 4K?
If you’re looking for a streaming service that doesn’t charge $70, $80, or $90 per month, but you want to watch occasional sports events in 4K, you should check out Sling TV. It offers 4K content with games on Fox channels in the Sling TV Select and Sling Blue packages; Sling Select costs $20 per month, and Sling Blue starts at $46 per month.
You also get occasional 4K content on ESPN with the Sling Orange plan, which has monthly plans at $46 per month. You can also sign up for a Pass to watch Sling Orange for as little as $5 per day, $10 per weekend, or $15 per week. These options let you watch 4K content, but like Frndly TV, you won’t have to pay a huge monthly price to watch them.
