Back in March, we here at The Streamable released our first set of community features, including the ability to comment on posts and leave reviews for movies and shows. We’ve seen some great interactions happening in the comment section already, but we would obviously love to see more.
After looking at the overall user experience, we realized the onboarding flow for creating an account on the site to use the features wasn’t the best that it could be. Over time, this may have deterred some of you from sharing your thoughts or chiming in on a discussion (which we are very sorry about). That changes now!
We’ve just rolled out support to create an account and log in using your existing Apple or Google account. This means that all you have to do is click the “Sign In” button, either in the top right corner of the site or near the comment section, and then tap on either the Google or Apple login, and you will be all set to go.
This new process takes only a few seconds to complete and you won’t need to worry about creating a password, username, or anything else. By signing in with your Apple or Google account, you will be able to start commenting and join in on the discussion right away. If you have already created an account and would prefer to use the original SSO log-in option instead, you can! If it’s the same email address as either your Apple or Google account, it will tie the two options together in the backend, and you’ll be able to use either login method going forward.
We have a lot of great community features in the pipeline, including things like Watchlists, the ability to follow your favorite sports teams, and so much more. So, what do you think? We made it easier to join us, so will you? Drop your thoughts in the comments, and let us know any new features you’d like to see from the site.
