Xumo Play is a free streaming service with some excellent options for customizing your channel guide.
Xumo Play is probably one of the best free streamers you haven’t tried yet. This service comes with more than 350 distinct, free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels in its lineup, and with so many options available, it’s a good thing Xumo comes with a live guide to allow you to scroll through all your options.
But with that many channels, viewers are likely hoping Xumo allows you to do a little sorting and pick out the networks you want to watch most. How customizable is Xumo’s guide? Our experts took a hands-on approach to answer that question for you!

Can you favorite channels on Xumo Play?

Yes, it’s easy to favorite a channel in the Xumo Play live guide. The small heart icon next to each channel logo on the left side of the guide allows you to favorite that channel in an instant, and when you do it will be sorted into your Favorite Channels section on the guide.
Unlike many other free streamers that offer a favorite option, Xumo Play does not require you to create an account before favoriting channels. In fact, I didn’t even see an option to create an account with the streamer when I tested its interface.
What other filters are available on Xumo Play’s guide?
The Favorite Channels section is just one shortcut available on the Xumo Play guide. Unfortunately, you cannot filter channels to show you only the content options you want to browse, but you can jump directly to a specific section within the larger guide using the shortcuts at the top of the screen.
Xumo Play allows you to jump to Action & Drama channel, Crime TV, News, Movies, Comedy, Animals & Nature, Horror & Sci-Fi, Sports, Combat Sports, Automotive, Latino, Westerns & Country, Home & Design, Game Shows, Food, Travel & Lifestyle, Reality TV, Classic TV, History & Learning, Faith & Family, Kids, Pop Culture, International, Music & Radio, and Local News sections within its guide using the shortcut options.
Can you hide channels with Xumo Play?
No, unfortunately, there is no way to hide channels and only see the networks you want to watch with the Xumo Play guide. Favorites and shortcuts will help you navigate to your preferred channels faster, but the other channels in the guide will still be there.
Can you search for channels with Xumo Play?
Most services with hundreds of FAST channels allow you to search for content by name. Unfortunately, the Xumo Play interface does not offer a search option to help you bounce to your favorite channel by typing in the name.
Can you manually reorder channels on the Xumo Play guide?
No, Xumo Play’s interface does not let you drag channels up or down in the guide to make the order fully customized. Very few free streaming services offer this feature.
