Star Wars neophytes don’t really have enough context to know just how groundbreaking “Ahsoka” has been. Not only does the show introduce live-action versions of favorite “Star Wars: Rebels” characters, it also brings Grand Admiral Thrawn to the screen, which is an event some Star Wars fans have been waiting for for over 30 years.

“Ahsoka” will debut its eighth and final episode on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. ET on Disney+. “Ahsoka” deals with the former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker and her adventures through the galaxy. Set at the end of the Galactic Civil War, Ahsoka Tano is helping to hunt down the last of the Imperial Remnant which is scattered throughout the galaxy. But when whispers of the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn reach her ear, Ahsoka knows she must stop at nothing to prevent it, even if it means never seeing her old friend Ezra Bridger again.

There’s much more to watch on Disney+ than just Star Wars if intergalactic adventure isn’t quite your speed. The service will also welcome a new season of “Loki” on Thursday, Oct. 5, with episodes debuting once per week thereafter. The rest of the expansive Marvel franchise is also available on Disney+, so if you feel the need to catch up on events before plunging into “Loki” Season 2, you’ll have ample opportunity.

Disney+ Premium is rising in price as of Thursday, Oct. 12, so users have until Oct. 11 to sign up for an annual plan of that tier and lock in their lower rate.
