Is there any way to watch Fubo with premium audio?

Most live TV streamers don’t offer 5.1 surround sound with live channels too often. What about Fubo?

The sports lovers in the audience know that for a superior live sports viewing experience, Fubo is one of the best choices available. The service offers a wide selection of cable sports networks, including ESPN and Fox Sports channels, and is one of only a few streamers that provide a good variety of regional sports networks.

But of course, every live sporting event sounds better in 5.1 surround sound. Does Fubo offer the ability to watch any programming with surround sound or another premium audio, or are you unable to go any further than stereo sound while using the streamer? We’ve got details here.

What you need to know about premium audio on Fubo

Does Fubo offer premium audio with live channels?

No, at the moment, Fubo does not include 5.1 surround sound with its live streaming channels. Many programmers elect not to broadcast their content in surround sound for a variety of reasons, and thus, Fubo only offers its live programming in stereo sound.

Does Fubo offer premium audio with on-demand content?

Many live TV streamers have a library of on-demand TV shows or movies that customers can scroll through while waiting for their next program on a traditional channel, and Fubo is no exception. However, viewers cannot watch Fubo’s on-demand catalog with 5.1 surround sound.

Could Fubo add premium audio in the future?

There is a chance that Fubo could add support for 5.1 surround sound at some point in the future. The streamer is being purchased by Disney and merged with Hulu + Live TV, and the Hulu platform does support 5.1 surround sound on select live and on-demand content. That means surround sound functionality could be on the way for Fubo customers soon.

For many other sports enthusiasts, particularly those who prioritize access to local sports broadcasts, Fubo is a compelling choice in our view. Featuring FanDuel Sports RSNs in its channel lineup, Fubo stands out as the most budget-friendly option for RSN access across numerous markets, including Altitude, AT&T Sports, Fox Sports, Marquee, MSG, NBC Sports, and NESN. (Explore the comprehensive list of Fubo’s sports channels.) Fubo recently launched an add-on to their sports package, allowing subscribers access to local RSNs as well.

In September 2025, Fubo also launched its Sports package for $45.99 per month, featuring a variety of sports-oriented channels including ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates (in select markets) as well as ACC Network, Big 10 Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPNU, Fox News, FS1, FS2, Fubo Sports Network, ION, NFL Network, SEC Network and Tennis Channel.

Fubo further enriches its sports offerings by including MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, NFL RedZone , NHL Network and beIN Sports (a channel not commonly found on competing services). For expanded soccer coverage, you can opt for Fox Soccer Plus via the International Sports Plus add-on for an additional $7/month.
